By stripping away the distraction of color, you will master value, depth, proportions, and composition. Once you understand these mechanics in black paint, charcoal and pencils, you will drastically speed up your painting process and learn to connect structural integrity directly to your brushwork.

THE ACADEMIC APPROACH: THE 3-STEP SYSTEM
This is not a casual sketching class. We move beyond "copying pictures" and into Art Be You’s proprietary 3-Step Drawing System, that is a university-level framework that guarantees structural integrity from the first mark to the final value:

1. Grid and Proportion (The Skeleton): Master technical placement, composition, measuring proportions, scaling, and spatial arrangement before you ever pick up a brush.

2. Value and Form (The Muscle): Understand three-dimensional structure, physical presence, and the structural environment. Learn how light creates volume so your future colors never look flat.

3. Depth and Atmosphere (The Skin): Learn the logic of light, how to control shadows, establish a focal point, and apply precise value assessment to create true depth and atmosphere.
